The VP, Ad Formats is a critical thought leadership role on the Advertising Product team for Hearst Magazines. This role will oversee the ad formats experience ensuring that our readers across our 29+ brands are met with premium, beautiful, engaging ad experiences. This role will support an expansive portfolio of ad products, globally, across many different reader experiences.

The VP will join Hearst Magazines at an exciting time. You will propel the next generation of Hearst's digital advertising formats that will be premium advertising experiences that both perform for the advertiser and engage the reader. You will be responsible for creating highly engaging and relevant ad experiences, working in tandem with key partners across our editorial and content feature teams. This role is ideal for a leader, with cross-functional expertise across ad serving, content management and editorial features. The ideal candidate is a leader in the digital ad ecosystem. You thrive in fast paced environments, have a passion for storytelling, reader experiences, and value collaboration.

The VP, Ad Formats will manage the better ad / better reader experience across executive leadership as we develop new innovative ways to engage readers, and develop better premium ad offerings that can be direct sold and stand out in market. The VP will report into the SVP, Ad Product and Data, and partner closely with key stakeholders across product, editorial, data insights, ad sales, client success, and ad revenue operations.

Resonsibilities:

What You'll Do
• Orchestrate and navigate between the product and tech owners of our digital experience, ad solutions who deliver our end products, and with key members of the advertising organization to deliver innovative ad formats that engage readers and align with our editorial authority
• You should have a strong grasp on advertising technology and product executions that drive revenue to help position Hearst Magazines as a cutting-edge ad product leader
• Get ready to lead and craft multiple ad formats that will redefine the very fabric of advertising
• Lead product vision, strategy, development, and execution of high impact, innovative Ad Formats that help audiences take action and advertisers tell compelling stories to reach their business goals
• Lead the development and implementation of new ad templates with both business goals and advertisers goals in mind
• Evolve current ad formats and iterate to drive client outcomes from awareness to taking action
• Partner with our Operations and studios teams on building premium ad formats and templates for advertisers
• Leverage data-driven insights to optimize and refine ad formats, driving superior performance and ROI for our clients
• Drive the business outcomes and success for the display media and ad formats portfolio
• Work cross functionally with a wide range of partner disciplines
• Balance and influence different business needs and make appropriate trade offs across different stakeholders
• Manage relationships with external ad format partners and vendors

Qualifications:

Who You Are
• 7-10+ years of experience in digital media, product marketing, and/or advertising technology
• Deep experience with creating and managing ad formats, a plus
• Experience working with advertising budgets of all sizes, and full funnel
• Deep understanding of digital advertising and internet industry targeting trends
• Experience executing successful product launches and overseeing multiple products
• Excellent marketing skills including critical thinking, copywriting, storytelling, and presenting
• Track record of strong ideas brought to life
• Ability to use statistics, sales data, qualitative/quantitative results, and other hard measurable data to influence key decision makers
• Strong attention to detail with a love for collaboration and problem solving

This role requires the position to be located in New York, NY with an in-office presence of 3 days a week. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

The base salary for this role is between $xxx,000 and $xxx,000. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as: transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
