Political Advertising Specialist

Job Description

Hearst Television is seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Political Advertising Specialist to join our sales team. You must have extensive experience in the political sales arena. You must have outstanding relationships with the top levels of political ad agencies in Washington, DC and all other cities where political ad agencies operate. This job is based in Washington, DC, reporting to the Political Sales Manager.
Requirements
• Constant communication with political ad agencies regarding their business
• Track and report all candidate/issue assignments at agencies for upcoming elections
• Assist HTV station sales managers in political agencies calls, presentations, etc.
• Assist Political Sales Manager on any group-wide agency requests that may arise, both linear and digital
• Assist in budgeting for upcoming year, both at the corporate and individual station level
• Point of contact for station questions regarding political procedure, FCC regulations, etc.
• Collaboration with Political Sales Manager on annual political SOP training for HTV stations
Qualifications
• Prior experience working directly with a station group or national broadcast organization
• Familiarity with political digital products, including OTT/CTV, programmatic, and audience-based targeting
• Experience supporting or leading political training initiatives for sales teams or cross-functional partners
• Related military experience will be considered

Salary
The salary for this role is $70,000-$78,000. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as transferable skills, work experience, business needs, market demands and conditions, including geographic location where the work will be performed, and other factors permitted by law. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
