Job Description
Hearst Television's Washington Bureau is seeking a News Producer with a strong editorial voice and logistics skills to join its morning team that provides coverage of political, breaking news and big story issues for the 31 Hearst Television stations and other Hearst media platforms. Hearst's Washington Bureau regularly conducts newsmaker interviews with national figures, as well as interviews with key Congressional members representing communities served by Hearst Television stations. You will report to the Washington Bureau Chief.

Job Responsibilities:
• Work with the AM Supervising Producer to provide live coverage throughout the day for our stations as well as breaking news and enterpris e content that impacts our local markets
• Produce and coordinate stories, content and element selection for daily coverage that reaches across the country
• Assist reporters with show packages and segments, working on various elements such as conducting and logging interviews, gathering video and producing graphics
• Work with station producers to help showcase and highlight bureau offerings
• Book and produce reporter live shots, monitoring news feeds and video for reporter packages, updates, and single station live shots
• Assist with big event coverage for the bureau, as well as booking interviews for reporters, and booking guests for segments.
• Coordinate live shots and feed material from our stations
• You will assists with booking satellite time for our stations

Requirements:
• 2 years experience producing newscasts or segments and extensive writing experience
• Familiar Washington politics and the impact beyond Washington and into our local markets, as well as able to follow and dissect complex issues by identifying key components
• Excel in live coverage, reacting and adapting to breaking news while coordinating 5 hours of continuous live coverage
• Strong writer, cool under deadlines, and work well both independently and in a team dynamic
