Job Description

The Director, Hearst Events will primarily focus on the development and execution of brand-specific editorial tentpoles and multi-brand events. These include editorial tentpole events such as ELLE Women in Hollywood, House Beautiful Whole Home and the Runner's World Clubhouse; thought-leadership summits such as the Town & Country Philanthropy Summit and Hearst Eco-Conscious Living Summit, and more.

Working with Editorial, Content and Brand Strategy and Marketing leadership, the Director, Hearst Events will provide high-level input into development of profitable events while also overseeing the logistics and production of event content and execution.

This is a critical role that requires someone who understands event production, who can write well, and someone with extraordinary attention to detail when managing multiple and varied projects. A successful candidate must be comfortable working with all levels of colleagues across many teams.

The position reports to the Group Director, Hearst Events.

Resonsibilities:
• Manage the coordination and execution of logistics for events including budget development and reconciliation, site selection, development of timelines and run-of-shows, vendor selection and management, contract negotiation, food and beverage selection, site plans, coordination and management of celebrity and/or VIP talent, and sponsor activation plans
• Work alongside Content and Brand Strategy to develop event executions that bring editorial vision and content creation to life
• Work alongside the creative team to development and oversee the production of event branding, signage, collateral and promotional assets
• Use your creativity to think outside the box to bring new ad innovative experiential ideas to life
• Other special projects as they arise

Qualifications:
• 7+ years marketing and event experience including event marketing and sponsorship management
• Large-scale project management experience
• Passionate about bringing editorial initiatives to life with a deep understanding of events, entertainment and culture
• Creative thinker with strong written and verbal communications skills, including the ability to present to clients
• Outstanding collaboration skills including the ability to work internally across multiple departments and with external organizations (vendors and clients) with confidence and ease
• Highly organized with grace under pressure -- flexibility and resilience is a must
• An understanding of how well-executed events and initiatives support business goals and the ability to manage shifting priorities as they arise

This role requires the position to be located in New York, NY with an in-office presence of 3 days a week.

The base salary for this role is between $113,000 to $120,000 annually. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as: transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
