Job Description
Digital Content Producer

Hearst is looking for a Digital Content Producer who will create vibrant video content for digital, app, and social media platforms. You will help build an exciting, new venture focused on producing content available to all Hearst Television stations and Hearst Newspapers, with a focus on delivering content for our Northern California stations, including KCRA-TV, and Bay Area publications, including the San Francisco Chronicle. You must be an excellent storyteller who understands the digital audience and can edit and create content facing intense competition under constant deadline pressure. This is an in-person role based in San Francisco, and you will report to the Hearst TV Director of Special Projects & Group Initiatives.

Responsibilities
• Write content and edit video about breaking news, active weather, daily news, sports and feature stories for digital and social media platforms
• Write compelling headlines for digital and social media platforms
• Discover and help acquire rights for user-generated content
• Create dynamic video content from photojournalists and user-generated clips
• Work closely with multimedia journalists and other newsroom staff to craft and distribute content tailored for a digital audience
• Produce recurring video segments on topics that are important to Northern California
• Develop multimedia special projects
• Oversee digital and social streams of live events and breaking news
• Develop ideas to grow our digital audience and video impressions

Requirements
• 4-10 years of experience in a professional newsroom or web-publishing environment
• Compelling news and editorial judgment
• Excellent writing skills
• Knowledge of video editing
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Premiere is preferred
• Experience with social media best practices
• Flexibility to work different shifts like nights, weekends and holidays
• Work well in an environment with frequent interruptions
• Related military experience will be considered

Salary Statement

The estimated base salary range for this role is between $70,000 and $85,000. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as transferable skills, work experience, business needs, market demands and conditions, including geographic location where the work will be performed, and other factors permitted by law. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
