Working with the guidance and supervision of the Biography.com Deputy Editor, the Associate Profiles Editor helps maintain and update profiles for Biography.com and other brands, as needed, in the Enthusiast and Wellness Group. The Associate Profiles Editor can quickly craft compelling, concise, and factually impeccable news alerts that capture the cultural zeitgeist of the moment and convey the excitement of being in the know about the most important people in current culture and historical figures with lasting impacts. The ideal editor can within minutes find the heart of the day's news, pinpoint the key players in relation to our existing database of 3,100-plus profiles, and tune and adapt those news alerts to aid distribution across all our platforms (such as on site, social, newsletter, and video).

Please note: For consideration, please submit your resume in PDF format with a cover letter, salary requirements, and a link to a portfolio or samples of work.

What you'll do:

• Pitch high-potential article syndications from across Hearst's network and retool content as needed to match the brand's voice and meet the needs of the Biography.com audience
• Use site analytics and SEO to constantly hone story angles, breadth, process, and display copy to reach team goals
• Keep a pulse on daily news, plus track upcoming cultural events and releases to spot coverage opportunities
• Work with the Biography.com Deputy Editor and fellow editorial team to hit all relevant metrics and goals
• Occasionally contribute short-form articles, like listicles, as assigned

• Obsessed with notable personalities, celebrities, historical figures, cultural icons-and explaining the importance of those people in clear, compelling, and simple yet detailed ways
• Overtly committed to factual accuracy
• Enjoy creating multiple pieces of content daily, in a high-cadence environment and a get-it-out-first deadline approach
• Comfortable producing content with digital-friendly language and that is optimized for SEO
• Relish working collaboratively with our experts and colleagues in data, visual, video, affiliate, and audience attraction teams
• Responsive to fast-changing metrics and goals
• Have at least 1 years of publishing experience, preferably in digital, newsletter, or social brands
