The Job

The Director, Telco and MVPD Partnerships & Distribution role will play a key leadership role overseeing the development and execution of our streaming business with our distribution partners across telecom and MVPD partners.

The core responsibility of this role is to support the launch of HBO Max in India with the objective of scaling subscribers and accelerating revenue growth through various initiatives and partners. This role is strategic and at the same time execution focused for a significant part of the subscribers and revenues of HBO Max in India.

The role works closely with cross-functional local and global teams at WarnerMedia including HBO Max South Asia leadership, content programming, marketing, data insights, product management and technology to distribute the HBO Max service through bundling, reselling, authentication and other mechanisms.

The Daily
• Identify and evaluate opportunities to grow subscribers, increase engagement, and differentiate the HBO Max product and content experience in India through strategic partnerships across 3rd party Telcos and MVPD.
• Use professional network to make contact with potential partners, pitch distribution opportunity, build mutual value and develop and execute distribution agreements.
• Partner with HBO Max DTC partnership team to align on distribution strategy for MVPDs and Telcos.
• Create the best possible commercial terms outcome for HBO Max and WarnerMedia while delivering seamless ways for consumers to purchase and use the HBO Max service.
• Identify, develop, negotiate and execute, local device, partnership payments, and brand integration partnerships.
• Hire, lead and mentor a team of highly motivated commercial strategy and partnership executives in India.
• Responsible within the HBO Max India team for the subscribers, revenue, and branding KPI's through MVPD and telco partners.
• Negotiate and execute trade-marketing for MVPDs and Telcos.

The Essentials
• 10 years+ experience in strategy, distribution, partnership management and business development in India.
• Direct to consumer experience is a must.
• Bachelor's degree and/or relevant experience; MBA preferred.
• Experience in drafting and managing distribution agreements with MVPDS and Telcos.
• Strong understanding of the India market and SVOD, AVOD and direct to consumer business models.
• Ability to analyze, interpret data and use insights to inform decisions and make recommendations.
• Fluency in English essential; exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to effectively influence and communicate cross-functionally with all levels and build universal consensus.
• Strong presentation skills and collaboration skills are a must.
• Ability to both think strategically and execute tactically.
