The Job

The Director, Head of Commercial and Business Development, will play a key leadership role overseeing certain critical aspects of the development and execution of our business strategies during the planning, launch and growth phases of HBO Max in Thailand. Working closely with the other leadership team members and their staff, this role will evaluate opportunities for accelerating subscriber and revenue growth through a variety of initiatives. This role will also be responsible for prioritizing, structuring and implementing our digital partnerships roadmap with IAP stores, device manufacturers, payment partners, and retail/brand partners.

The Daily
• Main point of contact in market for brand and device partnerships.
• Grow and maintain existing partnerships with consumer electronics companies and identify and negotiate highly effective, strong relationships with new partnerships in Thailand.
• Analyze opportunities, and shaping the commercial framework with partners, seeking advice from subject matter experts, as needed.
• Engage in and be aligned with HBO Max's MVPD distribution strategy in market.
• Manage key brand and other partnerships and deliver on commercial targets (KPI's).
• Explore and develop local/regional business opportunities with new and existing strategic partners, to ensure visibility in retail channels.
• Setting and communicating a partnership strategy that enables cross-functional teams to effectively prioritize their work.
• Collaborate with Brand & Content teams to strategically launch comprehensive FY partner marketing plans, to drive subscriber awareness, acquisition, upgrade and retention.
• Suggest new campaign ideas, concepts and objectives, communication strategies, and tactics for ongoing improvement of the partnership's strategy in the region.
• Effectively collaborate with cross-functional colleagues of diverse backgrounds and cultures, seeking and providing context so that you and other teams can make good decisions and be highly aligned across functions.
• Actively participate in and contribute to internal discussions and debates regarding challenges and strategy.
• Follow HBO Max brand guidelines in detail as specified in brand books and other brand materials.
• Create or customize specific materials for partner's like Content presentations or Brand guideline books.
• Represent HBO Max on location at partnerships events, fairs, exhibitions where HBO Max is present; coordinating all related activities.

The Essentials
• 10-12 years of experience in a business development or Sales function, ideally partner facing.
• Knowledge of the consumer electronics and telecom market in Philippines.
• Strong strategic and creative skills, organization and communication skills are crucial.
• Must have an ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities.
• Must be creative, organized, detail orientated and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously within a fast-paced environment with constantly changing deadlines.
• Exercise good judgment, flexibility and resourcefulness
• Must be a team player and leader with a collaborative approach to the business by influencing and communicating brilliantly across cross-functional and matrixed organizations at all levels, particularly at more senior levels.
• Fluency in English and local language is a must.
• Previous Studio/Pay TV/Gaming experience is a strong plus.
• Natural partner engagement skills with the ability to develop rapport and translate established partner relationships to programs that impact the business.
• Experience and passion for building great partnership programs that are unique and scalable creating a win-win situation for partners and HBO Max.
