Job Description
As an Analytics Engineer I, you will support the WBD Finance & Strategy Business Intelligence team at HBO Max by building and maintaining data models, pipelines, and visualization frameworks. You'll work closely with senior team members and stakeholders to ensure data is accurate, accessible, and aligned with business needs. This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in data engineering and analytics who is eager to grow their technical skills while developing a deeper understanding of business processes and KPIs.
Your Role Accountabilities…
• Assist in designing, developing, and maintaining ELT/ETL workflows using tools like Airflow and dbt.
• Build and maintain SQL-based data models in Databricks to support analytics and reporting needs.
• Collaborate with stakeholders (e.g., Finance, Strategy, Marketing) to understand business requirements and deliver data solutions and insights using Looker.
• Support data validation, transformation, and anomaly detection processes to ensure data quality and reliability.
• Troubleshoot and improve workflows for processing and analyzing datasets.
• Contribute to the preparation of data solutions for new products and features, ensuring scalability and flexibility.
• Follow established analytics development standards, best practices, and governance processes.
• Learn and contribute to CI/CD processes and version control using Git.
• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to support executive report delivery, including weekends.
• Maintain a high degree of accuracy and data integrity for WBD's Global Executive team through the development and sustainment of WBD Streaming Daily Executive Reporting and HBO Max Weekly Business Review.
• Support the development and evolution of new Executive Reports as HBO Max launches new markets, promotions or product features.
• Stay curious about business priorities, KPIs, and industry trends to ensure your work aligns with organizational goals.

Qualifications & Experience…
• Bachelor's degree or greater in quantitative field of study (Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, etc.) from a top-tier institution.
• 3-4 years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or data engineering.
• Proficiency in SQL and a basic understanding of data warehousing concepts (e.g., star schemas, ELT/ETL).
• Familiarity with data modeling and transformation tools like dbt or similar.
• Basic knowledge of AWS tools, including boto3, S3, and AWS CLI.
• Experience with BI tools like Looker and analytics platforms such as Databricks.
• Familiarity with version control (Git) and an eagerness to learn CI/CD best practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to tackle ambiguous challenges.

Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $94,185.00 - $174,915.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros.
