WOIO-WUAB are the CBS and CW Affiliates in Cleveland, Ohio. We produce 56.5 hours of news per week and deliver content in both English and Spanish on a 24/7 basis on our digital platform.

Job Description/Summary:

WOIO 19 News is seeking a full-time Sports MMJ/Reporter/Anchor.

Your responsibilities will include (but not be limited to) the following:

The successful candidate will anchor, report and produce compelling, urgent and immediate sports content on TV and all our digital platforms. The ideal candidate must be a jack-of-all trades in sports and perform a variety of tasks in the field and in the studio. Must be highly skilled in the crafting of engaging sports content with the ability to thrive in a competitive sports town, including the ability to grow the depth of our sports material, ''own'' breaking sports, enterprise and investigate sports journalism. Demonstrate the ability to recruit viewers to daily sportscasts, daily web content, daily OTT content as well as weekly special projects including NFL pre and post games shows. Will be a key member of our team responsible for Browns NFL coverage within newscasts and specials. Must have the desire to present breaking sports news to run in both the news and sports blocks. Must also contribute daily to all social media platforms to help recruit viewers.

Qualifications/Requirements:
- Must be a great communicator and work well under pressure and well with a diverse group of people.
- Strong verbal/written communication skills and knowledge of AP Style required.
- Be a positive leader inside and outside the newsroom.
- Understand the difference between writing for television and writing for the web.
- Ability to lift and carry video equipment and be capable of shooting, writing, editing and posting multiple stories daily on air, on-line, mobile technology and to social networking websites all under tight deadline.
- Applicant should have a minimum of 5-years experience in medium to major market Sports.
- Experience with newsroom computer systems preferred. Bilingual journalism skills also preferred.
