Job Summary/Description:
WIS is searching for a motivated photojournalist to join our award-winning team. If you are creative and ambitious and would like to work for an award-winning legacy television station – This is the job for you.'' Basic duties include shooting and editing news stories, conducting interviews and coordinating lives-shots with reporters. The ideal candidate is adept with video and editing equipment and has a real vision for storytelling.
Duties/Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
• Operate field camera
• Ability to quickly edit
• Lighting
• Conducting interviews
• Covering breaking news, general assignments and feature stories
• Excellent communication skills to relay field information to the newsroom
• Operate live equipment
Qualifications/Requirements:
• Ability to story tell using video, utilizing natural sound and creative editing techniques
• Hands-on experience with editing software
• Able to conduct interviews to get information
• Must be able to lift/carry camera equipment ranging from 20lbs-25lbs.
• Valid driver's license and excellent driving record
• Good decision-making skills and news judgment
• Ability to represent the station professionally in the community and newsroom
• Must be able to work well with others and on team assignments
