Job Summary/Description:

WMTV NBC15 in Madison, Wisconsin, is in search of a Photojournalist/Editor who excels at identifying, gathering and editing powerful images and compelling sound. Top candidates have high and positive-energy and will not settle for ''the way we've always done things.'' Duties/Responsibilities will include (but not be limited to) the following:
• The position includes solo work, as well as working with reporters and anchors on live shots, investigative/promotable content and special projects.
• You will shoot and edit video for daily news broadcasts and all of the station's digital platforms.
• You will embrace working with our awesome digital producers. This includes sharing updates, video and still images from the field as new information is learned.
• You must have solid news judgement, excellent communication skills, and the ability to problem solve. Writing skills are a plus. Our photographers don't just ''gather and hand off'' their work. When working solo, you are expected to conduct and log your interviews, provide shot sheets, and write copy. When working as a team, collaboration is an automatic.
• You will contribute to the entire editorial process. Having journalistic ethics, solid editorial judgement and creativity is a must.
• If you cannot meet your deadlines, multi-task in a fast-paced environment and keep smiling, this is not the job or newsroom for you.

Qualifications/Requirements:
• Must have a desire to win, the ability to reflect on your work and apply feedback.
• Ability to represent the station professionally/responsibly in the community and newsroom, and on social media.
• The ideal candidate has completed or is working towards a degree in Journalism, Communications, TV Production or another related program. We will consider a candidate with field-equivalent experience.
• While prior videography experience in a TV Newsroom is preferred, we will train the right candidate with potential.
• Understanding of and adherence to AP Style (for digital platforms) and broadcast writing (for television).
• Responsible for maintaining assigned gear and driving a company vehicle.
• Ability to operate a field camera, editing and lighting equipment.
• Execute live shots using Microwave ENG and TVU technology.
• Proficient in other mobile news gathering, including use of GoPros, TVU Anywhere App, editing and sending back video/packages from the field.
• Willing to become Drone certified and comply with company and FAA protocols.
• Ability to lift/carry equipment ranging from 35-50 lbs.
• Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• This position works Monday-Friday, nightside (approx. 1:45-10:45 p.m.). Flexibility is required to meet newsroom needs, to work overtime for breaking news/special events, and to fill-in on other shifts, including weekends and holidays.
