Our team at WMC, Action News 5 is always pushing the technology envelope. Broadcast and digital media innovation are in our DNA. Our team produces 46.5 hours of local programming on broadcast and more than 100 hours on OTT including nearly 60 NCAA Division I men's and women's sporting events for ESPN Plus.

Job Summary/Description:

WMC, Action News 5 is looking for an inspired, resourceful producer who works well with a team of talented professionals to create compelling newscasts through thoughtful story selection and placement, impactful writing, and effective showcasing. The successful candidate is a skilled communicator who writes for the ear and produces for the eye. Excellent time management skills and a positive attitude are a must, as well as strong decision-making skills and attention to detail. A demonstrated understanding of the relationship between broadcast and digital/ streaming/ social media platforms is a huge plus.

Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field preferred, equivalent experience considered
- Prior newscast-producing experience is preferred
- Excellent writing, showcasing, and time management skills required
- Must exhibit an understanding of broadcast, digital, and social platforms in a local new context
