NEWS PRODUCER (PRIMARY) - KVVU

Job Summary/Description:

The News Producer creates, coordinates, and executes all newscasts. This position provides editorial and production direction to Associate Producers and field crews regarding content, coordination and newscast execution.

In addition, the News Producer:
• Coordinates efforts of Anchors, Reporters, Editors and other staff toward crafting a compelling newscast.
• Develops day-to-day on-air look of the newscast to attract the largest available audience to the station's profitable newscasts.
• Posts to the website and social media. Research, write and showcase relevant stories for daily newscasts, on air and online. Ability to operate effectively under pressure and during breaking news and weather events. Time management and the ability to shift focus to respond to changing events are both necessary skills for this position.

Qualifications/Requirements:
• Minimum two years experience producing in a TV news or similar online news environment. Must work well under pressures of a fast paced newsroom environment. Excellent team communication skills are essential. College degree is preferred, but not required.
