NEWS ANCHOR/REPORTER (W/END) - KOTA/KEVN

About KOTA/KEVN:

KOTA and KEVN are the ABC and FOX affiliates in Rapid City at the base of the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota. KOTA and KEVN and the market leaders for local news, sports and weather with a state-of-the-art facility. KOTA and KEVN feature separate brands. Both stations cover the Black Hills area of South Dakota as well as parts of eastern Wyoming. Our teams produce six daily newscasts and six weekend newscasts.

KOTA & KEVN are located in Rapid City, SD television DMA Market 169, a community of approximately 100,000 television HH.

Job Summary/Description:

KOTA & KEVN has an immediate opening for a Weekend Anchor/Reporter. This position also reports as an MMJ three weekdays. The top candidate will be a dynamic, high-level storyteller who delivers every day.

Make a difference as our next Weekend Anchor/Reporter in the Black Hills of South Dakota. This is a high-profile position that requires initiative, leadership and impact. Unlike other stations, we treat our weekend team equally to those working M-F. We expect more. You must work with a sense of immediacy-independently and as a team. It is our culture. You will contribute daily to elevating our newscasts and will be an ambassador-championing our community initiatives.

The person we hire will be an innovator. You are willing to evolve and try new things. The way we've always done things, no longer cuts it. The ideal candidate will also possess versatility, speed and accuracy when it comes to gathering and verifying facts, shooting and editing video, and writing. We are a multi-platform organization and qualified candidates will excel in traditional television storytelling, as well as digital innovation. Previous experience is preferred.

Qualifications/Requirements:

The ideal candidate will possess...
- Ability to handle breaking news live in the studio and in the field
- Excellent on-camera presentation
- Be able to write in a clear, concise and conversational manner
- Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to contribute in an on-camera and off-camera team environment
- Effective use of social media pages
