Job Summary/Description:
Are you ready to grow your anchoring skills? WLBT in Jackson, the number one media organization in Mississippi is looking for its next newsroom leader. If you want to guide our viewers through breaking news, investigations and the complex issues of the day from our brand new visually compelling studio, then consider joining us as our next anchor. There will also be story-telling from the field. This person will anchor weekend morning newscasts and tell stories as a MMJ.
Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Lead our coverage from the studio and the field
- Shooting writing and editing daily content for newscasts and digital platforms
- Compelling live reporting
- Generate enterprise story ideas
Qualifications/Requirements:
- 2+ years as an Anchor/MMJ preferred
- Communications/Journalism degree or equivalent professional/military experience
- Investigative Journalism experience - a plus
