WRDW-TV/WAGT-TV is home to the CBS and NBC affiliates in the beautiful southern city of Augusta, GA. The station operates out of a state-of-the-art facility that launched in February 2021. The Augusta DMA (#108) has a competitive news environment, and the award-winning news team produces over 40 hours of news per week. Augusta is home to a thriving downtown, restaurants to satisfy the foodie in you, and offers plenty of outdoor recreation with its rivers, lakes, and trails. Home of the world famous Masters Golf Tournament, Augusta is also situated 3 hours from the mountains, 2 hours from the coast, giving day-trippers the best of both worlds. Job Summary/Description:

WRDW-TV/WAGT-TV is looking for the next Multimedia Journalist to join our award-winning news team. We are located in beautiful Augusta, Georgia, and a new state-of-the-art station. Augusta is known internationally as home of the Masters Golf Tournament, but aside from golf, this southern city boasts a booming Cyber Industry, thriving economy, and offers outdoor recreation on lakes, rivers, and trails.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to: research, reporting live, shooting clean and creative video, writing in conversational broadcast style, and editing...all with attention to detail and accuracy. Must have the desire and ability to daily cultivate sources in the community, enterprise lead stories, and dig beyond the surface. Must also collaborate well with others in the newsroom.


▶ Candidates should have experience as a reporter/MMJ with a broadcast news station or with a university/college newsroom with realistic daily expectations and deadlines. Successful applicant's background must include a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism or related field. He/she must be a self-starter, with ability to operate television news equipment. Strong research, conversational writing, camera presence, and communication skills are a must. Must work well under pressure and be able to maintain attention to detail and accuracy under strict daily deadlines.
