KWTX-TV News 10 is the dominant television station for the Waco-Temple-Killeen market in the Heart of Central Texas. The CBS, CW, Telemundo, and MeTV affiliate, KWTX is the leader in every local newscast. Job Summary/Description:
Seeking a career that provides opportunities to build your skills, share real-people stories, and display your creativity in front of and behind the camera? KWTX, the dominant CBS station in Central Texas, is seeking a MMJ with abilities and a desire to generate and tell creative stories on-air, and digital platforms. The ideal candidate is a daily news consumer who knows how to enterprise and present engaging content.
Duties/Responsibilities include (but not be limited to):
- Generate engaging enterprise content for on-air and online reports
- Report live in field and in studio as a multi-media journalist
- Plan, schedule, shoot, write, edit and present news content on-air and on digital platforms
- Collaborate with news team and news managers to determine daily themes and content
- Create social media and website posts
- Record and edit segments for broadcast
- Availability to work weekends and some holidays
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Ability to generate and tell unique enterprise stories relevant to our Central Texas audience
- Strong news judgment
- Ability to present clear and concise on-air content in scripted and non-scripted events
- Planning skills that keep you always seeking the next big topic
- Creative thinker with a desire to present information in new formats and with engaging visuals
- Excellent writing, shooting and editing skills
- Ability to transport ENG gear for on-location shoots and live shots
- Ability to multitask and be calm and decisive under pressure
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism or related field or equivalent training and/or experience
