Job Summary/Description:
10/11 News is accepting applications for a full-time weekend meteorologist to join the market's dominant leader in Lincoln, NE. The shift includes weekend evening newscasts and will be focused on digital and streaming weather content during three weekdays.
The ideal candidate must be able to produce and deliver dynamic, compelling, and understandable forecasts for our newscasts and digital platforms. You must be able to identify and explain the weather story of the day. Accuracy is a must. You will cover severe weather with urgency, while also being reassuring.
Our meteorologists work in a multi-platform environment and contribute daily to our digital platforms, including our streaming apps, weather apps, social media, and 1011now.com. Responsibilities also include working directly with the news team to build out our coverage and make it meaningful and relatable to our viewers. Our meteorologists also report in the field. Strong leadership and teamwork are a must.

Qualifications/Requirements:
• Knowledge of WSI Systems a plus
• A college degree in meteorology or related field preferred
• At least 1 year of experience forecasting and tracking severe storms
• A strong knowledge of how to establish a presence on digital platforms
• A commanding and comfortable on-air presence
• Strong work ethic, organizational and leadership skills
• Ability to work long hours/overtime, weekends, and overnights as needed for breaking and severe and specialized coverage
