Job Summary/Description: Job Pay (Hourly/Salary): $40K - 65K DOE

To present a professional image and to demonstrate a strong knowledge of meteorology. To set the standard for station weather and provide direction to other members of the weather staff with emphasis on accuracy, timeliness and a highly professional and polished image.

Duties and responsibilities include (but not limited to):
• Produce a high quality and accurate weather forecast for weekday newscasts with an emphasis on state-of-the-art computer graphics for air presentation.
• Effectively tell the weather story of the day and understand that weather is an integral part of the overall newscast, weather and traffic mobile app, social media and on-line at KKTV.com.
• Passion for breaking weather and willingness to work alternate hours if need be for severe weather coverage.
• Ability to apply meteorological knowledge to enhance traffic segments on and off air.
• Fill in on alternate newscasts as assigned and assist Chief Meteorologist in Breaking Weather/Severe Weather situations.
• Public appearances as a station representative maintaining a professional image both on air and off.
• Provide useful information via all social media platforms.
• Employee is held accountable for all duties of the position including generate content for web channel KKTV.com.

Qualifications/Requirements:
• College degree in meteorology. Seals of the National Weather Association and American Meteorological Society are preferred, but certainly not necessary. Three (3) years as a weather anchor at a broadcast station.
• A clean driving record, ability to drive in various weather conditions and valid driver's license is a requirement of this position.
