Local News LIVE is Gray TV's 24/7 live streaming news network. It provides live coverage from Gray's 113 markets, allowing viewers to watch stories from across the country on one platform. Job Summary/Description:
Local News LIVE is looking for a content producer for our 24/7 live streaming news network. This position requires newsroom experience as well as the ability to book guest interviews throughout the day. The ideal candidate has a passion for journalism, producing news segments, and works well under pressure.
Duties/Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Work with newsroom leadership, anchors, and producers to line up guests relevant to the news of the day
- Organize and produce elements for show segments
- Work with technical managers in arranging studio logistics for live and taped interviews
- Use editorial judgment to help determine network content
- Write TV copy and produce newscasts
- Coordinate with Gray TV stations to gather and distribute content
- Research national and regional events in the Gray TV footprint to inform decisions on live programming
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:
- BS/BA in journalism or communications
- At least 2 years of experience in television
- Knowledge of local news and newscast production
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Familiarity with ENPS, BitCentral and digital content management systems
- Excellent time management skills
- Schedule flexibility
