About WOIO/WUAB:

WOIO-WUAB are the CBS and CW Affiliates in Cleveland, Ohio, as well as WTCL, the only Telemundo station in the Cleveland DMA. We produce 66.5 hours of live, local news, weather and sports every week and deliver content on a 24/7 basis on our digital platforms on WOIO and 5+ hours of news on WTCL.

Job Summary/Description:

Responsible for writing/producing compelling and visually appealing newscasts for digital content for web,app and OTT platforms. Must be a strong, punchy writer with impeccable news judgment with an eye for the people, pictures and pace approach to local newscasts. Must have the ability to craft compelling rundowns that emphasize urgency, immediacy, Breaking News, Disruptive and Breaking Weather and other ''Alert'' areas of content. Must be a strong writer capable of applying SEO strategies and social engagement tactics.

Will be called upon to perform Assignment Desk duties including monitoring news wires/police radios, maintaining phone lists of sources, keep files/records of upcoming news events. Writing stories for broadcast, as well as our various digital and social platforms. Generate & provide story ideas, and research as necessary. Direct videographers and/or reporters to gather/produce the news.

Qualifications/Requirements:
- Strong verbal/written communications skills and knowledge of AP Style required.
- Bilingual journalism skills preferred.
- College degree in Journalism preferred.
- Ability to work well under pressure and well with a diverse group of people.
- Must be able to handle a wide variety of variables, including short deadlines, shifting schedules.
- Other duties as assigned by news management.
