Fox Television Stations is one of the nation's largest owned-and-operated network broadcast groups, comprising 29 stations in 18 markets and covering over 37% of US television homes. WITI FOX 6, the market leader in Milwaukee, has a rare opportunity to bring in a new VP of News and Content. This job is all about working in a multi-media world with on-air, mobile, online, and whatever else comes next. It's about being a leader, inspiring people to do their best every single day in a great Midwest news market. It's about LOVING the news business!

RESPONSIBILITIES:
WITI FOX 6 produces over 65 hours of local news each week; with an experienced staff of professional journalists and some of the best photojournalists in the country. The bar is high. Our new News Director will be a superb motivator and communicator, and a natural creative news strategist.

Essential duties include newsroom leadership, on-air recruiting, budget administration, personnel development, sweeps strategy, development of social media/online/mobile strategies, and local program development. You will give routine feedback with critiques of news product and of on-air personnel. You'll also be in charge of maintaining professional guidelines and standards of news broadcasts and staff.

It goes without saying that you must have a superior understanding of libel laws as they apply to broadcast journalism; as well as an understanding of the professional journalist's rights and responsibilities. Be ready to handle all inquiries and correspondence from the public regarding news matters.

QUALIFICATIONS:
You must have at least 5 years of news management experience and are excited about creating compelling content across multiple platforms. Excellent communication and time-management skills, a strong can-do attitude with a commitment to teamwork, and an open and honest management style are all vital for success in this role.
