Fox Television Stations is one of the nation's largest owned-and-operated network broadcast groups, comprising 29 stations in 18 markets and covering over 37% of U.S. television homes. This includes seven duopolies in the top 10 markets: New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, San Francisco, Washington, D.C. and Houston; as well as duopolies in Minneapolis, Phoenix, Orlando and Seattle.
JOB DESCRIPTION
We are searching for a full-time sports producer with strong writing skills and superior news judgement. Will selects stories, assembles them in a rundown, creates graphics, writes and copy edits the stories and coordinates on-air presentations. Responsible for maintaining a constant dialog with viewers on various social media platforms and in supporting station's online sports presence through creative articles, web polls, pictures, blogs and social media posts. Sports producer will ensure sports segments and shows meet live production deadlines and standards of production. Participate in the editorial process that leads to story assignments both in news and in the world of sports.
Occasionally produces content in the field. Will also be required to perform basic videography and non-linear editing functions.
Other duties as deemed appropriate and assigned.
Bachelor's degree in Journalism or Communications. Have exceptional news judgment, strong writing and copy editing abilities. Strong communication skills and the ability to develop and assemble content. Must be able to work in fast paced environment under specific time constraints; exceptionally creative. Must be able to think out of the box and find new ways to present information. Must be self-motivated and work effectively independently and on a team. Possess three (3) years of newsroom experience, preferably as a Line Producer. Weekends, holidays and varied hours req. All offers of employment are contingent on successfully passing the pre-employment drug screen.
