JOB DESCRIPTION
Q13 Fox Seattle, the official partner of the Seattle Seahawks (NFL), Sounders FC (MLS) and Storm (WNBA), has a rare opening for a dynamic, engaging, experienced sports journalist! This position will anchor on the weekends and report during the week. Must be able to write, edit and produce on their own for sportscasts and specialty sports shows. The qualified candidate will be proficient at (or will learn) producing on iNews, editing on EDIUS and our video sharing/archiving system, along with posting stories and videos to our website. They will be expected to enterprise unique feature stories and will have opportunities to host specialty sports shows on air and in digital format as well. It is imperative that the candidate be comfortable in all professional sports settings, including press conferences, interviews, press boxes, sidelines – and have the ability to conduct engaging interviews with local athletes and coaches. The candidate will be willing to work weekends and holidays and be flexible with schedule with the Sports Director.
A 4-year college degree is required with a minimum of 3+ years' experience working as a sports reporter and/or MMJ in a medium or large market preferred. Candidate must be able to work flexible hours; early mornings, late nights, weekends and holidays may be required. Strong writing skills and thorough knowledge of current sporting events. Excellent people and communication skills; must be a team player.
