Fox Television Stations is one of the nation's largest owned-and-operated network broadcast groups, comprising 29 stations in 18 markets and covering over 37% of US television homes. This includes seven duopolies in the top 10 markets: New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, San Francisco, Washington, DC and Houston; as well as duopolies in Minneapolis, Phoenix, Orlando and Seattle.

JOB DESCRIPTION

FOX 5 TV, Washington DC's top news station with the most hours of local news, is seeking an innovative and skillful photojournalist who can tell stories and captivate the audience through the lens of the camera. Must have thorough knowledge of digital camera and editing equipment. Ideal candidates will be able to demonstrate their understanding of different camera and media formats and how to apply techniques appropriately to each story. Live ENG remote skills and experience are required including ENG truck operation and field editing, Sat truck experience a plus. Excellent photography, lighting, audio, non-linear editing, and computer skills are required. Must have working knowledge and experience with Edius editing platform and Bitcentral newsroom system, iNews highly preferred. Must be creative and detail-oriented. Assignments will include, but are not limited to breaking news, investigative features, sports events and political news stories. Must be a self-starter and able to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced broadcast environment, both independently and in a team environment. This position requires daily collaboration with reporters, editors, managers and other staff members. Will participate in editorial and other department meetings. Ability to take direction, think critically under pressure, and work professionally as part of a cohesive team and individually within specific time constraints. Friendly, respectful and collaborative. Positive attitude, good judgment and excellent communication skills. Interact effectively and professionally with on-air staff, off-air staff, production and technical crews, and management. Other duties as assigned. HS Diploma (or equivalent) required. Vocational/technical school or Associate's Degree preferred. Minimum 3 years of recent on-the-street TV news photography experience required. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. This position will require the ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time, at times while carrying equipment. Must be able to go up and down stairs, climb, bend/stoop, squat/crouch, kneel and twist. Must have, or be willing to obtain, a valid driver's license, be able to drive, maintain a clean MVR and insurance. Weekends, holidays, travel & varied hours required.
