Fox Television Stations is one of the nation's largest owned-and-operated network broadcast groups, comprising 29 stations in 18 markets and covering over 37% of U.S. television homes. This includes seven duopolies in the top 10 markets: New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, San Francisco, Washington, D.C. and Houston; as well as duopolies in Minneapolis, Phoenix, Orlando and Seattle.

JOB DESCRIPTION

KTVU is seeking candidates for a Newscast Director. Primary duties will include directing newscasts, but will also include Community Affairs, special projects and local programming. We are an Ignite facility with Avid iNEWS. Duties include creative direction of talent and crews with either multi-camera or single-camera shooting from the Control Room (and on location) during broadcast. While the main emphasis is news, this position may be called upon to direct all types of television station programs--sports, promotion, local programming, community affairs, commercials and remotes.

Consults with Producer, Anchors and other crew members on production needs.
Other duties assigned as deemed appropriate and necessary.

High school diploma is required; 4-year College degree is preferred. Candidate should have 3 to 5 years' experience with fast paced television productions. Ignite experience or other newscast automation is required. A strong technical understanding of new technology is also required. Excellent communication and leadership skills are required.
