Job Description

FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the US These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network's national content.

JOB DESCRIPTION

They will be assigned a variety of stories and given a deadline for completing the assigned content. It is the reporter's responsibility to make contact with the interview subjects and to confirm the facts for the news stories. The reporter will conduct interviews and work with their producer, photographer and editor as well as managers to create compelling content for the newscast.

The best candidate for this job will have strong news sources, demonstrate clever writing skills, and a commanding on air presence. The person hired must have a flexible schedule and be available to cover holidays, weekends, morning and evening shifts. This position is needed to cover shifts for full time reporters who need to take vacation and sick time. The candidate must have at least 2 years experience reporting in news, and a degree in Broadcast Journalism or equivalent field.
