FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the US These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network's national content.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The search is on for an Executive Producer to helm WFLD'S morning news. We are looking for a leader who will help break the mold of morning television and set the mission for a MEMORABLE news EXPERIENCE.
Candidate must possess the following attributes:
• A thorough understanding of Chicago's morning news audience.
• Create an environment conducive to bringing out the best in everyone on your team, both in front of the camera and behind the scenes.
• An extraordinary leader, especially when it comes to understanding and nurturing talent. You must be able to inspire, educate, and mold the anchor team to improve their performance on a daily basis.
• Superior story selection skills for a 5-hour news block. The ability to stack a rundown that is urgent, unique and flows, while still being able to pivot, to respond to breaking news.
• Creating memorable moments that will maker your morning news the buzz of Chicago.
The AM EP will be directly responsible for overseeing newscast producers, morning news crews, production staff, talent, as well as approving scripts and editing copy. Story and future planning, social media campaigns, critiquing shows and evaluating staff are essential components to the position. Ability to perform other duties as assigned, including approving and regulating expenses. REQUIREMENTS: Top candidates must have 5 or more years in television newscast producing/writing experience. Prior news management experience necessary. Superior creativity and organizational skills essential. Must be resourceful, cost efficient, have strong production and technical knowledge, be able to meet deadlines and perform well under pressure.
OUTSTANDING interpersonal skills and an understanding of budgetary issues necessary.
