FOX 5 TV in Washington DC is hiring a Digital Content Creator to be part of our prominent team. The person we are looking for is captivated by digital news and information, has a passion for storytelling and can tell stories that matter most to online users. The Digital Content Creator must have solid news judgment and be an expert in digital and social media platforms. We require journalistic integrity and an understanding of print and broadcast newsroom standards and styles. This role is responsible for creating compelling, UX-focused content related to news, events and topics relevant to the market's users and beyond, including text stories, photos/graphics, live streaming content, breaking news and social media elements. Ideal candidates will have k nowledge of HTML coding with a solid understanding of web standards, design and usability. Excellent print/web writing, web editing, troubleshooting, copy editing and web production skills required. Must understand current trends in social media and the dynamics to drive engagement across all platforms to build loyalty among communities. Use various software programs, systems and analytic tools to make informed editorial decisions. Monitor real-time analytics. Work closely with digital content team and other FTS markets to share information and stories. Other duties as assigned. BA/BS degree. 2+ years' experience developing, editing and publishing news content on digital and social platforms. Excellent writer and storyteller. Flawless writing and copy editing skills. High standard of quality and attention to detail. Deadline driven. Social media enthusiast. Friendly, respectful and collaborative. Proficient in content management systems, photo and video publishing, live streaming and digital analytical tools. Must be able to work flexible hours; weekends and holidays may be required.
