JOB DESCRIPTION

FOX Sports Digital is looking for a Senior Features Editor to join our team in Los Angeles, CA. As our Senior Features Editor, you will guide FOX Sports Digital's feature coverage as well as plan and coordinate storytelling efforts for the FOX Sports App and FOXSports.com. You will establish the overall editorial vision and content strategy for planned original content, blending together the written word, video offerings, social content and graphics to engage users with smart and surprising stories.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Establish the overall editorial vision and content strategy for planned original content, blending together the written word, video offerings, social content and graphics to engage users with smart and surprising stories
• Manage a team of editors, writers and freelance contributors, sparking creative ideas and embracing new approaches to storytelling
• Provide constructive feedback to help writers grow and improve their craft
• Help maintain and contribute to FOX Sports Digital's editorial calendar and content budget, planning for upcoming events, major milestones and content themes
• Embrace a truly cross-platform storytelling approach, combining text, video, audio, photos and graphics into a cohesive and compelling user experience
• Work with the Managing Editor and Senior Editorial Manager to establish an overall editorial voice and tone for FOX Sports Digital – Includes recruiting new talent and develop existing staff
• Utilize analytics, research and other data to help shape the editorial strategy for FOX Sports Digital
• Work with the design team to plan and execute all art for feature stories, including original photography, art and informational graphics
• Collaborate with the social team to extend the reach of storytelling efforts, using social channels to grow audience, extend the reach of feature stories and engage users with compelling bite-size content
• Coordinate storytelling efforts with FOX Sports TV properties, producing companion material that can run on all video platforms
• Establish a collaborative culture for content development and creation, guiding brainstorming sessions for a staff of editors, writers, video producers and the social team
• Serve as a conduit to ad sales to help monetize content by creating content that appeals to advertisers and can be smartly bundled on all platforms
• Create cross-platform content themes that can extend to TV, radio, social and other platforms for monetization

WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• 4+ years of experience as an Assigning Editor
• Outstanding news judgment, skilled storytelling ability, thorough knowledge of digital best practices (including SEO, social platforms and content sharing), and a strong knowledge of journalistic principals and methods
• Knowledge of a CMS or online publishing system
• Deep knowledge of AP style writing

• Bachelor's Degree is preferred
