JOB DESCRIPTION

TMZ is looking for a detail-oriented Search Engine Optimization Manager to provide SEO guidance to our editorial staff. The SEO Manager will perform keyword research, monitor keyword performance, and provide SEO analyses to the editorial team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for measuring and reporting article performance, evaluating competitor's performance, and working to implement best practices. The ideal candidate will look at digital assets and know exactly the steps to take to build an optimal operation for managing the site.

Responsibilities:
• Lead the health & maintenance of all TMZ digital assets including web, app & newsletter
• Construct and deliver daily performance reports to the Newsdesk
• Be the point person for the Newsdesk regarding daily performance fluctuations, providing insights & recommendations
• Identify & manage the clean up of bugs for all digital assets
• Build and manage UX/UI enhancements for TMZ digital assets
• Strategize, create a roadmap around and execute on technical SEO initiatives
• Create automation strategies to optimize processes
• Use AI methodology for site growth
• Build and execute on customer data collection features
• Manage vendor relationships
• Work with several TMZ teams including Newsdesk, marketing, sales, ad operations, engineering and lateral Fox Entertainment teams
• Be the point person for the Newsdesk regarding daily performance fluctuations, providing insights & recommendations

Requirements:
• 5+ years of experience in digital media management & SEO (publishing industry experience a plus)
• BS/MS degree in marketing or a related field
• Ability to work cross-functionally with content, design, development and product teams to drive SEO programs forward
• Knowledge of HTML/CSS and website administrations
• Strong experience in technical & content SEO
• Strong experience in digital UX/UI
• Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking
• Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in online marketing and measurement
• Highly creative with experience in identifying target audiences and devising digital campaigns that engage, inform, and motivate
• Proactive with a sense of urgency
• Excellent written & verbal communication skills
• Forward-thinking and highly collaborative
• Familiarity with digital media, and analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Adobe)
• Familiarity with software development platforms (e.g., Github, Jira)

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $100,000.00-120,000.00 annually for California. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
