JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for talented Writers to join the #1 national cable news luring program, Fox & Friends and Fox & Friends First. You are a storyteller. You use creative, compelling, and conversational copy to pull viewers in. You know the difference between an attention-grabbing headline and burying the lead. You like to dig into details and find the most interesting part of a story. You are also quick to jump on breaking news and a great communicator. The writer position will entail working directly with reporters and correspondents.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Write VO's, VO/SOT's and reporter stories under tight deadline pressure
• Create graphics and edit video via your desktop
• Communicate critical story information with producers and managers
• Operate as a team player
• Pitch story ideas
• Think outside the box to tell a story
• Understand the importance of utilizing and writing to visuals
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• 2+ years of major market experience
• Bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field of study preferred, or equivalent experience
• Flexibility to work both weekend and weekday overnight hours
• Ability to write creatively for morning television
• Thorough knowledge of current events, US politics, geopolitics, foreign policy and history
• Ability to manage breaking news

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $65,500.00-75,000.00 annually for New York City and Westchester County, NY. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
