JOB DESCRIPTION

Fox News seeks a Weekend Producer with extensive experience writing and producing news for television. The Weekend Producer will work on top-rated daytime news programs 5 days a week, including Fox News Live on Saturdays and Sundays. As Weekend Producer, you will be responsible for line producing competitive news hours and overseeing a team of writers, APs, and PAs. You will work with reporters, assignment desk personnel, and senior management daily.

The Weekend Producer will put together fresh, fast-moving, and compelling hours in the Fox News newsroom and take the broadcasts on and off the air in the control room. Additionally, the Weekend Producer must write with urgency, style, and brevity while delivering substantial news in a highly-produced environment.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Line produce top rated newscasts on weekends as well as weekdays
• Work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and prioritize on a daily basis, especially in breaking news situations
• Work with an experienced Senior Producer on the vision, layout, and execution of each show
• Work with a team of writers and APs to craft each show
• Generate original content ideas, as well as write and copy edit scripts
• Produce segments, live shots, packages, and graphics
• Manage the production of live segments, coordinating efforts within our bureau and on-location

WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• A Bachelor's Degree in journalism or a related field of study preferred, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience writing and line producing broadcast news in a working control room
• Exceptional editorial judgment
• Strong communication and polished writing skills
• Strong knowledge of and passion for national politics and current news
• Digital tape and graphic experience
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced and intense atmosphere
• Familiarity with iNews, VIZ, and an understanding of building program rundowns
• Flexibility to work various shifts when needed, and a willingness to travel when necessary
• Ability to be a self-starter with a self-motivated nature
• Ability to work independently and with a team

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $84,500.00-116,000.00 annually for New York City and Westchester County, NY. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
