JOB DESCRIPTION
The Five, the #1 national cable news program, is looking for a dedicated and experienced Producer to join our team in NY. The ideal candidate is talented, organized, and hard-working. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and have great editorial judgment. This role involves contributing to every stage of segment production-from pitching stories and building research packets to gathering elements and collaborating with on-air talent. The Producer should be comfortable line producing and have proven experience handling breaking news in the control room. Creativity is essential. You must be able to think outside of the box and look past the headlines and generate original ideas and segments.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Pitch and execute creative, innovative segment ideas
• Produce segments from initial concept through on-air execution
• Work closely with on-air talent to assistant with show prep
• Collaborate with the Senior Executive Producer, Executive Producer, and the show team
• Line produce and manage breaking news coverage in the control room
• Previous booking experience preferred
• Pitch and execute creative, innovative segment ideas
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
• Strong knowledge of current events, politics, pop culture, and social media trends
• Excellent editorial judgment
• Ability to perform under intense deadline pressure, particularly during breaking news
• Experience with iNEWS and Dalet editing software is a plus
• Bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field preferred, or equivalent experiencE

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $83,000.00-110,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
