Freelance Producer, Fox Nation

JOB DESCRIPTION

FOX Nation seeks a dynamic, experienced Freelance Producer to join the long-form team. You will be responsible for both pre-production and post-production tasks, including pitching compelling stories, researching, booking guests, conducting in-depth interviews, writing long-form or episodic scripts, as well as participating in the editing process.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Pitch guests, stories, and ideas for long-form documentaries.
• Develop accurate and continuously updated story research.
• Book guests and conduct both on-camera and off-camera interviews.
• Oversee logistics and field production.
• Write interview questions, descriptions, and scripts.
• Select and integrate elements such as sound, video clips, and graphics to effectively tell a story.
• License archival footage and managing rights and clearances.
• Coordinate with other departments such as legal, finance, graphics, marketing, field production, and media relations.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• 5+ years of professional experience at a news organization, production company, or documentary company
• Bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field of study preferred, or equivalent experience
• Strong and accurate writing
• Line producer experience a plus
• Thorough knowledge of current events and politics
• Ability to travel when required
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong strategic thinking and decision-making skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced creative environment, working both independently and as a part of a team
• Ability to think creatively and develop new and interesting approaches to storytelling
• Willing to work nights, and weekends when needed

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $35.10-47.12 per hour. We provide Freelancers medical/dental/vision insurance and 401k after they meet eligibility criteria and any State required time-off, in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
