JOB DESCRIPTION
The #1 National Cable News Program at 8pm ET, Tucker Carlson Tonight, is looking for a dedicated & experienced Freelance Booker.

We strive for compelling and qualified guests who are experienced in legal, foreign, and political realms, dependent on the top stories of the day. The prospective applicant must be able to work swiftly under pressure. As a Freelance Booker, you should have strong editorial judgment and in depth knowledge of Capitol Hill, and understand the implications of lawmakers' decisions. The perfect candidate must be well-read in all the major newspapers, podcasts, political blogs, and have at least an intermediate understanding of how government operates. You should have a strong sense of topics and guests that would be a good fit for the flagship primetime cable news program, Tucker Carlson Tonight.

This is a maternity leave/vacation relief opening.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Effectively communicate and understand a guest's point of view on relative topics
• Conduct thorough research and compiling well rounded pre- interviews
• Sift through past TV and print interviews to find relevant sound and perspective for our guests to react to
• Manage daily deadline turnarounds of a live-show
• Strategize with your colleagues on best booking approaches
• Remain tuned in to the day's lead news stories
• Work well independently and in a team environment
• Work in a fast-paced environment where changes happen minute to minute, hour by hour

WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• A bachelor's degree and/or relevant work experience is preferred
• 1-2 years of experience in television
• Previous booking experience
• Extensive Rolodex and can book everyone from high-profile guests, celebrities and people at the center of major news stories
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong editorial judgement and newsgathering skills
• A passion for current events
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where changes happen minute to minute, hour by hour
• Willingness and ability to work under tight deadline pressures
