JOB DESCRIPTION
FOX is currently seeking a Director of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) to oversee the EHS needs of all Fox Corporation (FOX) scripted and unscripted entertainment production operations. Working with the Vice President of Environmental, Health, and Safety to ensure that overall strategy is effective, you will plan, develop and manage the implementation of comprehensive EHS programs for scripted, unscripted, alternative entertainment and creative services events . You will provide guidance and assistance to productions for all health and safety issues, create written safety materials for productions, and ensure productions have implemented the required elements of the EHS Program. You will also analyze and respond to safety concerns, ensuring quick and appropriate resolutions. You will provide consultation on regulatory issues and liaise with public agencies regarding environmental and safety- related matters. You will r ecommend and coordinate the use of outside consultants when specific expertise is required, and develop specific safety guidelines for unique production locations or situations. You will analyze injury statistics to determine trends and/or potential job hazards, and coordinate and maintain employee training and education programs to increase safety awareness.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manages all aspects of FOX's COVID-19 industry compliance efforts
• Oversees all COVID-19 Compliance Officers assigned to productions as necessary
• Assists the applicable FOX HR Business Partner in day-to-day of COVID-19 exposure cases, either confirmed or unconfirmed to comply with industry, local, state and federal guidelines as necessary
• Supervises production-related safety staff
• Provides information and updates to VP of EHS and applicable FOX executives
• Allocates resources, including time, budget, and consulting manpower, to most effectively address production safety needs
• Communicates with upper levels of production management to discuss safety-related issues
• Researches geographic location, local Authorities Having Jurisdiction, Governing Bodies, and EHS regulatory requirements for new filming locations in order to create new safety program documents
• Researches previous productions/studios that have filmed in unfamiliar geographic locations
• Researches recent industry-related compliance issues (accidents, citations, pending litigation) to then recommend changes in policy/procedure as necessary
• Researches local vendors for specialty production safety products and services (environmental, engineering, fall protection, etc.), including establishing contact with these vendors and vetting experience and fit for production needs
• Researches, revises and updates materials based on new regulations, policies or departmental changes
• Coordinates periodic workplace inspections to ensure compliance (i.e. verifying table saws are equipped with kickback protection, appropriate fire protection, hazardous waste disposal, etc.)
• Conducts script analysis, noting all areas of interest/concern in regard to health and safety
• Reviews hazard assessments/risk assessments for specialized activities and locations
• Responds to and investigates incidents and injuries as necessary
• Reviews injury investigation reports and other related documents and determine the need for revision, further investigation, follow up and/or reporting to regulatory agencies
• Assists with content security and general security surveys and audits
• Researches and coordinates professional development opportunities
• Manages production tracking data input and dissemination
• Manages the issue, recovery and inspection of department-owned equipment
• Conducts Production Management and Department Head meetings at the start of prep
• Assesses locations for risks during tech scouts/surveys and works with the Location Managers and Production Management to plan and remediate as necessary
• Reviews activity notifications and discusses with applicable production departments
• Attends and participates in various industry-related committees and special meetings (CSATF SAT, AMPTP, ACTSAFE etc.)
• Reviews all new shooting and one-line schedules to determine dates of upcoming activities

WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• 4-year degree, preferably in Occupational Health / Safety / Fire and/or Industrial Hygiene or commensurate work experience in the field of Production Safety
• At least 5-7 years in a dedicated EHS Management position
• Strong knowledge and understanding of ISO 45001 / 14001 and OSHA Standards is highly desirable
• CSP certification (Certified Safety Professional)
• Project management experience working with cross functional teams
• Strong working knowledge of Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel
• Ability to prioritize and work within time and budgetary constraints
• Ability to exercise professional judgment, sometimes in difficult or stressful conditions, in assessing hazards and demanding corrections
• Must have excellent problem-solving skills
• Must have exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Proven continuous improvement mentality and principle understanding
• Flexibility to adapt to the changing needs and schedules of productions, events and broadcasts
• Ability to interact productively with a broad range of people and personalities
• Ability to use diplomacy and tact to resolve difficult issues
• Understanding of sensitivity of certain information and shows appropriate discretion in sharing it
