Director, Head Of Creative

Job Description

This leadership position, reporting into the VP Head of Studios, will oversee a team of Studios Creative Directors and be broadly responsible for creative-driven functions across programs advancing R&D, generative production techniques, physical camera and lighting capabilities, and real-time filmmaking techniques.
The ideal candidate will leverage their creative production and technical expertise to collaborate closely with Directors, Cinematographers and VFX Supervisors, connecting their needs with talented cross-functional teams at both Eyeline and Netflix. By planning and guiding the execution of advanced content creation processes, this candidate ensures creative visions are not only realized to an exceptional creative standard, but optimized to be scalable across future productions globally. This candidate thrives in problem-solving, building solutions collaboratively, and managing complex work streams in a fast-paced environment involving multiple stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
• Oversee Eyeline Studios content creation associated with filmmaker-facing programs, ensuring that creative stakeholders see Eyeline as creative partners who are able to achieve their vision by leveraging the best combination of in-house and third party technologies
• Partner with Eyeline Director of Content Innovation, Eyeline Labs and Netflix DSE teams on the transformation of theoretical research into practical, robust production tools and workflows, ensuring they are scalable and effective in a production environment
• Guide technology integrations and software development with an eye towards simplicity and creative end-user functionality
• Serve as a brand ambassador and a key representative of Eyelines identity, speaking at industry events, conferences and in media interactions
• Partner with Eyeline VFX leadership to transfer relevant learnings and execute shared business goals
• Stay abreast of industry trends, new technologies, and creative methodologies, integrating cutting-edge techniques into the company's projects to maintain a competitive edge
• Design innovative content creation approaches that utilize current and in-development technologies to test limitations, prove out feasibility and validate operational efficiencies
• On a project-by-project basis, lead talented teams of artists and technicans to reach their fullest potential
• Collaborate with Eyeline Studios Visual Pioneering leadership and artists to achieve project objectives
• Partner with Netflix Creative Innovation team on initiatives such as the Creators Program
Qualifications
• 15+ years of experience as a creative leader overseeing complex titles and entertainment technology programs at the highest level
• Deep understanding of traditional VFX workflows as well as non-traditional tools such as volumetric capture and generative techniques
• Ability to communicate with high profile directors and cinematographers, taking complex visions and stories and translating them into production techniques
• Strong track record of successfully leading and managing cross-functional teams
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building abilities with the ability to engage and inspire diverse teams across a broad range of stakeholders
• High level of adaptability, creativity and problem-solving skills to navigate a fast-paced and evolving industry
• Self-motivated with a proactive and results-driven attitude
• Process focused but comfortable with ambiguity and able to work with minimal oversight
$550,000 - $720,000 a year
This salary range is specific to applicants applying to our position in Los Angeles, California. To determine your base salary, we consider your qualifications, skills, and experience. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary outside of this range and will also be dependent on your location.
