Job Description

This role will have a strong focus on consumer insights, with a mandate to rigorously monitor the health and vitality of the ESPN brand overall and the ESPN+ brand specifically. Building on broader brand insights, this work will help represent the voice of the fan as it relates to the awareness and understanding of ESPN+, including the impact of live events and original content on the brand's overall standing with fans. As the Senior Analyst of Brand Strategy & Content Insights, you will be responsible for helping to support the day-to-day management of projects, data mining, analysis, and the communication of finalized perspectives through both written word, verbal presentations, and workshop development. This role will interface and support relationships across ESPN's Marketing and Content teams, as well teams across Disney Media & Entertainment Distribution (DMED).

The Senior Analyst will be a naturally curious, thoughtful, and creative thinker passionate about translating consumer truths into impactful brand and content strategy. This individual sees the big picture, thinks independently and can support the development of proactive research strategies for internal clients in a fast paced environment. Being a collaborative contributor who leverages the power of the team is also a key trait for this individual. Further, the Senior Analyst must have a passion for understanding people, the sports fan, and an ever-evolving media consumer and be comfortable communicating these insights to various departments. This position will report to the Associate Director, Brand Strategy & Content Insights, and collaborate closely with the DMED Sports Research, Insights & Analytics team

Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with and advise key stakeholders across the company, with direct supervision and oversight of senior research team members.
• Ask meaningful and clarifying questions of stakeholders to guide and define research objectives, helping to scope projects from internal client ask through to RFP.
• Support senior research team members in the management of various primary research projects and initiatives, interfacing with vendors and contributing to analysis/insight development.
• Digest complex information and data across multiple sources and create cohesive narratives across findings.
• Deliver clear, actionable insights to senior management via written, visualized and verbal communication.
• Attend and periodically present at meetings with internal ESPN departments and as well as the wider Disney organization.

Basic Qualifications:
• 2+ years of relevant media/marketing/primary research experience.
• Basic experience with key quantitative and/or qualitative research tools and processes:
• Quantitative skills include developing sample frames, questionnaire design, checking survey programming, managing fielding partners and monitoring progress, creating banner/tab plans, reading and quality control of data tables.
• Qualitative skills include screener development, managing recruiting, discussion guide development, digital and in-person activity development, managing fieldwork, supporting execution of methods, synthesizing learnings, etc.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Basic proficiency with statistical packages (such as SPSS, SAS, R, SQL, Q Research).
• Ability to interpret and integrate insights from multiple data sources into a cohesive narrative.
• Skilled with extracting insights from raw data and visually bring those insights to life in creative ways.
• Excellent writing skills, attention to detail, and demonstrated leadership skills.
• Collaborative nature and ability to work well in a team environment.
• Passion for sports content in all forms (TV, social, digital, audio) and knowledge of the media landscape.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Some experience with TV, web, video, social analytics tools (Nielsen, comScore, Social Analytics tools) a plus, but not required.

Required Education
• Bachelor's Degree required

This role is considered hybrid, which means the employee will work a portion of their time on-site from a Company designated location and the remainder of their time remotely.
