Job Description
Social Media Specialist II (Sports Betting and Fantasy)

ESPN is seeking a Social Media Specialist II who will discover, develop, and distribute content that engages ESPN's fantasy and sports betting audiences across Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, and Facebook. This position will require live social programming and support of multiple sports with a focus on growing ESPN's sports betting and fantasy sports presence on social media.
CT location preferred but may be open to alternate locations.

Responsibilities:
• Identify and curate engaging sports betting and fantasy sports specific social content for Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, and Facebook
• Hands-on content creation, strategic thinking, and cross-functional relationship building
• Write, edit and enhance social copy to ensure that writing style is consistent with account voice and editorial policies
• Track engagement, follower growth, and social algorithm best practices to ensure social strategy leads to continuous growth
• Conceptualize innovative ideas for social media posts and execute against them from start to finish, including occasional video and photo editing
• Collaborate with internal partners to push marketing and/or production content onto social in a dynamic way
• Establish and cultivate partnerships with fantasy and sports betting stakeholders across the company, including but not limited to, digital live show teams, linear TV producers, ESPN talent, sports betting and fantasy sports marketing teams, and external partners
• Work in a variety of platform-specific content management and social analytics systems
• Analyze performance of social content and incorporate insights into future content decisions
• Output subject to oversight by supervisors and peers to ensure audience interest, accuracy, and adherence to established editorial procedures
• Sports happen on nights, weekends, and holidays and those shifts will be regular and required in this position

Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in social media or a closely related field
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a sports betting and/or fantasy sports focused role
• Minimum of 1 year of experience using video editing software (e.g. Final Cut, Premiere, After Effects)
• Minimum of 1 year of experience using photo editing software (e.g. Photoshop, InDesign)
• Elite knowledge of the sports betting and the fantasy sports landscape, including current competitors, influencers, sports betting trends and rules

Preferred Qualifications:
• Sound editorial judgment, writing and editing skills
• Ability to react quickly and positively under pressure
• Strong communication and organization skills
• Appreciation for and understanding of internet pop culture
• Familiarity with ESPN's content across multiple platforms

Required Education
• High School Diploma or Equivalent

Preferred Education
• Bachelor's Degree in related field

Additional Information:
• Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays.
