About the Role & Team
The social media producer creates and manages engaging content, analyses performance metrics, and improves brand presence. They gather, edit and publish posts across different social channels for ESPN UK and FC, coordinating with the rest of the team across the sports news cycle, prioritising stories and ensuring editorial standards are maintained. They produce high-quality, consistent posts to attract and retain a sports-loving audience across digital platforms.
This person will follow a rotating schedule, working in the Hammersmith, London office on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, with shifts from either 9-5 or 11-7.
On Thursdays and Fridays, they will work remotely from home.
What You Will Do
• Create compelling, high-quality content including graphics, videos and captions for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X and YouTube Shorts, and assist with content creation and scheduling for ESPN F1 and ESPN Africa as needed.
• Stay up-to-date with social media trends and innovations to implement best practices while monitoring channels for trending topics to boost engagement.
• Track and analyse performance metrics to gauge the success of content. Provide regular reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) and use insights to optimise future content and strategies.
• Collaborate with the Disney/ESPN sales teams and appointed third-party agencies on social media initiatives.
• Work with the US ESPN Digital and Social teams to follow best practices and coordinate activities.
• Provide live coverage of sporting events, delivering real-time updates, post-event analysis, and engaging fans through live content during key sports events.
• Be available to work on a rota that includes weekend shifts to cover live events and engage with our audience during peak sports hours.
Required Qualifications & Skills
• Proven experience in social media content creation, preferably in the sports industry.
• Solid understanding and passion for sports, particularly football, Formula 1, MMA and other major sports relevant to ESPN's audience.
• Proficiency in working on social media platforms and tools, including Facebook, X, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and social media management tools such as Sprinklr.
• Proficient with graphic design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop)
• Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
