Job Description
The Visual Storytelling division of ESPN Creative Studio is a team of visual journalists, photo editors, developers, designers, concept artists and animators whose work reaches across all platforms at ESPN.
We are responsible for editorial design and photography on the ESPN website and app, including custom microsites, special projects, branding, illustration, and data visualization. We also concept, design, and direct television graphics for ESPN studio shows and live events as well as key art for ESPN+ original content and creative oversight for Andscape.
The Senior Designer will help design and execute various design projects primarily for ESPN.com and the app. If you are a collaborative creative partner and have a passion for visual storytelling, we want you!
Responsibilities:
• Work on a wide range of digital assignments for ESPN.com, from prototyping custom interactives to versioning out creative assets.
• Design for other platforms that the team supports such as television graphics, ESPN+ key art, cross-company branding, social templates, etc.
• Collaborate effectively with editorial partners to elevate ESPN's journalism and storytelling.
• Create, update, and maintain various creative toolkits and style guides for the team.
• Contribute to our database of emerging creatives and work with freelancers.
• Prepare and present design work to internal and external stakeholders.
• Adhere to established team workflows and processes.
Required Qualifications:
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience working within a creative studio or media organization, especially in the digital and mobile space.
• Curiosity around shifting industry trends.
• Strong grasp of composition, hierarchy, and UX.
• Fluent with Adobe Creative Suite.
• Working knowledge of wireframing and prototyping in Figma.
• Proven project management skills with ability to prioritize and meet multiple deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Reliable work-from-home setup with strong internet connection.
