UX RESEARCH
What We Do
Our team of UX researchers provide rigorous research support and insights for all of our games and products. Our goal is to be the voice of our players and users, and help the designer-intended experience for them be realized.
What You'll Do
Epic Games is searching for a UX Data Researcher to collect and analyze player feedback through various survey methods and in-game data to improve the user experience of our products. This role will primarily have you creating and analyzing surveys, connecting those survey results to game analytics data, and communicating findings to various teams to inform design decisions.
In this role, you will
• Design and implement surveys (both email and in-game) to gather player feedback on specific aspects of the game or product
• Explore, recommend, and implement various research methodologies to gather insights. Define appropriate metrics to evaluate the quality of our game and product user experiences and measure the impact of changes
• Align your work with other teams' outputs, including: usability testing, internal and external playtesting, in-game telemetry, and other user research techniques
• Create visualizations and reports using Tableau to present findings in a clear and understandable manner to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement
• Communicate your findings to cross-functional teams, including developers, designers, product managers, artists, and more to inform design decisions and product improvements
• Act as a player advocate and voice for users within Epic Games
What we're looking for
• Experience in survey design and implementation (at least one year of experience)
• Demonstrated analytical skills -- preference will be shown to those with experience using SQL and/or Python
• Experience visualizing data -- preference will be shown to those with experience using Tableau
• Familiarity with game analytics and telemetry
• Demonstrated ability to communicate findings effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Ability and willingness to work independently and own research products. Ability and willingness to participate in team level peer-review
• Ability and willingness to collaborate cross-functionally on strategic initiatives
• Prior experience working in the video game industry
• Education in a social sciences, human computer interaction (HCI), or data-focused field
• Prior experience in other qualitative user research methodologies, such as usability testing and playtesting
