What You'll Do

We're looking for a Software Programmer to help bridge Unreal Engine end users from various industries, locations, and levels of experience, with Epic's development team. The ideal candidate is a senior C++ programmer, with experience in real-time applications who is customer focused, and has excellent communication skills.

In this role, you will
• Provide programming consultation to Unreal Engine licensees as they navigate difficult problems
• Debug, review and analyze a host of development issues from bugs to runtime performance challenges
• Work with customers and technical partners from multiple industries to ensure features meet their needs
• Write well documented and optimized code for fixes and feature improvements
• Drive the creation and development of knowledge sharing resources such as live presentations, whitepapers, tutorials and knowledge articles
• Provide mentorship and coaching to team members

What we're looking for
• Excellent C++ skills with demonstrated experience in multi-threaded applications.
• A strong foundation in computer science including real-time application development, 3D math, data structures, debugging and algorithms
• Experience profiling and optimizing CPU/GPU systems in one or more areas of game development or similar industry experience
• Strong written/verbal communication skills including the ability to give technical presentations to audiences with diverse technical backgrounds
• A creative problem solver with a passion for helping other developers work through tough challenges
• Self-motivated individual who will take ownership of Epic's technical relationship with developers and work proactively to reduce friction while improving processes
• Specialty in one of the following areas of game development: mobile platform development, runtime animation, developer tools or procedural content generation
• Professional experience with a AAA game engine, especially UE4 or UE5
• Shipped titles as a developer in a role similar to one of the above specializations

This role is open to multiple locations across North America and Munich, Germany (including NY, CA, WA).

The expected annual base pay range(s) for this position are detailed below. Each base pay range is relevant only for individuals who are residents of or will be expected to work within the specified locale. Compensation varies based on a variety of factors, which include (but aren't limited to) things such as skills and competencies, qualifications, knowledge, and experience. In addition to base pay, most employees are eligible to participate in Epic's generous benefit plans and discretionary incentive programs (subject to the terms of those plans or programs).

New York City Base Pay Range

$207,107 - $303,757 USD

California Base Pay Range

$182,255 - $267,307 USD

Washington Base Pay Range

$194,681 - $285,533 USD
