What You'll Do
Web Programmers at Epic impact a diverse set of initiatives from end to end ranging from the Epic Games Store to Fortnite social experiences. We also build a variety of products that support other developers, from internal initiatives to third party teams worldwide. These include web portals for core platform services, marketplace and eCommerce applications, and beyond.
In this role, you will
• Apply extensive hands-on experience in developing scalable web applications, including making strategic architectural decisions, evaluating and implementing programming languages and frameworks
• Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of industry-standard web programming practices throughout the entire development lifecycle, encompassing coding standards, rigorous code reviews, version control, automated testing, seamless deployment processes, and proactive monitoring
• Effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels, including users, technical teams, and management, to gather requirements and articulate technical solutions and features in a clear and concise manner
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional team members to evaluate technical feasibility, experiment with emerging technologies, and explore innovative design approaches, fostering an environment of creativity and collaboration
• Mentor and empower other programmers, providing guidance and support to foster their professional growth, ensuring alignment with best practices, coding standards, and project objectives, while cultivating a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the programming team
What we're looking for
• Passion for crafting secure, scalable, and highly available web applications
• Experience architecting and leading innovative, complex web projects
• Experience collaborating with a variety of strategic stakeholders to bring a product vision to life
• Deep knowledge of JavaScript, Typescript, React, Node.JS, and GraphQL
• Understanding of Java or Python
• Experience in collaborating with design teams to design, document and build design systems for scalable and consistent user interfaces
• Experience with cloud technologies (we use AWS)
• Understanding of relational and NoSQL databases
This role is open to multiple locations in North America (including CA & WA).
Pay Transparency Information
The expected annual base pay range(s) for this position are detailed below. Each base pay range is relevant only for individuals who are residents of or will be expected to work within the specified locale. Compensation varies based on a variety of factors, which include (but aren't limited to) things such as skills and competencies, qualifications, knowledge, and experience. In addition to base pay, most employees are eligible to participate in Epic's generous benefit plans and discretionary incentive programs (subject to the terms of those plans or programs).
California Base Pay Range
$202,701 - $337,835 USD
Washington Base Pay Range
$190,539 - $317,565 USD
