What You'll Do

Epic is looking for a Senior Tech Artist to join our team working on LEGO Fortnite. A successful candidate should have a deep knowledge in look development and lighting. They should understand materials and lighting fundamentals. They should be able to navigate complex materials, effects, sequencer and UE Blueprints to create compelling art. They should be able to work with a large team supporting the more technical aspects of creating art.

In this role, you will
• Create complex materials for landscape and environments
• Be responsible for world lighting, sets lighting, clouds, atmospherics, water lookdev
• Execute on a range of visual effects styles with emphasis on stylized
• Work with engineers and artists to optimize content for many platforms
• Own gameplay and engine features from the TechArt side maintaining the high-quality bar for LEGO Fortnite

What we're looking for
• Must have a strong reel/portfolio showing executed game tech art
• Experienced knowledge of PBR principles and material editors
• Establish workflows and tools for other artists to utilize when making unique assets
• Experience using texturing packagers such as Substance Designer
• Proficiency in setting up world environmental lighting
• Desire and knowledge of how to push Unreal Engine further
• Desire to work with a team and own features and initiatives from inception to ship
• Familiarity with the Unreal 5 Engine art pipeline
• Experience working on multiple platforms
• Scripting experience Blueprint or other
