Senior Tableau Administrator
Epic Games has openings at its Cary, NC studio for Senior Tableau Administrators to take ownership of our Tableau Business Intelligence platform. Responsible for the day-to-day running of the platform, as well as planning for our future growth, working with data engineers, analysts, executive leadership, and our ''self-service'' user community to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery of analysis and reports. This is not a remote or work from home position
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Tableau installation, upgrade, migration, configuration, maintenance, technical support, and troubleshooting in shared and dedicated prod/non-prod environments.
• Planning and implementing the migration of Epic's Tableau Infrastructure to AWS.
• Negotiate Tableau license agreements and implement the best licensing solution based on cost and growth.
• Design and develop workbooks, dashboards, global filter page, action filters, and complex parameters-based calculations.
• Participate in and contribute to the implementation of best industry practices and automation for Tableau.
• Conduct performance tuning and capacity management.
• Ability to maintain and schedule Tableau Data Extracts using Tableau Server and TabCMD.
• Tableau users and group's security configuration and Integration with active directory.
• Working across all phases of SDLC from requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, and delivery of product to customers.
• Setup and configuration of Tableau server in various environments and use Tableau CMD and Tableau admin tools to configure the server according to best practices.
• Implement patches and other day-to-day Tableau administration tasks including creating folders/reports/users.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor of Business Administration, Information Systems, or closely related degree, or foreign equivalent, and five (5) years of post-degree progressive experience in administering a Tableau Server cluster in a high-availability enterprise environment, and with ALL of the following:
• Tuning skills, ability to automate tasks using TABCMD and Tableau Rest API.
• Scripting skills (Python, PowerShell.)
• Tableau Server components such as TabAdmin, Tableau Services Manager (TSM), LogShark, TabJolt, TLV, Replayer, and the Tableau REST API.
• Deploying and sustaining the Tableau Server on Linux using cloud providers like AWS.
• Migrating from pre- TSM to post- TSM environments.
• Tableau Desktop and dashboard development.
• Deploying and sustaining the Tableau Server on Linux and Windows.
• Administering and supporting a multi-tier Tableau infrastructure including upgrade analysis and planning, security administration, release management, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and general systems maintenance.
• Connecting Tableau to large NoSQL solutions like Hive or Presto and MPP databases like Redshift or Snowflake.
• Advanced SQL skills, including query tuning and data modeling.
• Working with Postgres, Snowflake, Redshift Databases.
