What We Do

The Epic Trust and Safety team provides a safer experience for Epic users. We work across multiple products and services to improve technology and craft transparent policies so our players and users can have positive experiences on our platforms.

What You'll Do

Epic Games is looking for a full-stack engineer to support our Trust & Safety tools and services.
Our team builds solutions which prevent the spread of harmful content, enforce our community guidelines and analyze user reports. As a direct contributor to these systems, you will have the opportunity to improve the safety of hundreds of millions of players around the world.

We are looking for a candidate who is comfortable developing web applications using React and Go in a microservice environment, and can work well with internal and external product development teams.

In this role, you will
• Integrate safety systems into Fortnite's creator ecosystem, tools and workflows.
• Improve the systems which analyze user generated content and enforce the rules.
• Manage and improve the toolchain our human moderators use to evaluate the quality and safety of user generated content in Fortnite.
• Work closely with Machine Learning and gameplay experts to automatically identify harmful content before it's shown to players.
• Design and implement new features in our various React, Go and Python web applications.
• Review key metrics and data from safety systems to verify that they are operating correctly.

What we're looking for
• Experience developing JavaScript and React web or mobile applications.
• Experience developing web APIs and using one or more of the following languages: Go, C++, C#, Python, or JavaScript/Node.js.
• Experience monitoring and managing databases (we use Elasticsearch/MongoDB/PostgreSQL).
• Deep understanding of distributed systems and design patterns.
• Effective communication skills.
• BS/BA degree or equivalent work experience.
