What You'll Do
Today, we are growing the team that is forging the first adventures in LEGO Fortnite, blending the engaging and welcoming Fortnite universe with the creativity and playfulness of LEGO. We're looking for a Senior Online Programmer for the Persistence team within LEGO Fortnite to craft highly reliable, high throughput, low latency software to communicate with many services at scale. In this role, you will
• Architect features related to Lego Fortnite's Persistence Systems
• Interface with various backend service endpoints to load and save persistence data
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to understand their data storage needs and provide solutions that meet their requirements
• Integrate feedback from our various consumers of the Persistence System and evolve and improve existing features
• Identify opportunities to improve the performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of our data storage systems
What we're looking for
• Prior experience developing online systems and working with backend services
• Proficient in C++
• Previous Game Development experience
• Experience with client/server architecture, replication, and RPCs
• Proficiency in writing highly asynchronous real-time code
• Excellent communication skills including the ability to provide, solicit, and accept feedback constructively
• Experience tracking down and debugging live service
This role is open to multiple locations in North America (including CA, NYC, & WA).

The expected annual base pay range(s) for this position are detailed below. Each base pay range is relevant only for individuals who are residents of or will be expected to work within the specified locale. Compensation varies based on a variety of factors, which include (but aren't limited to) things such as skills and competencies, qualifications, knowledge, and experience. In addition to base pay, most employees are eligible to participate in Epic's generous benefit plans and discretionary incentive programs (subject to the terms of those plans or programs).
New York City Base Pay Range
$211,514 - $310,221 USD
California Base Pay Range
$198,824 - $291,608 USD
Washington Base Pay Range
$198,824 - $291,608 USD
British Columbia Base Pay Range
$184,796 - $271,033 CAD
